The Down Side of Having a 4-Wheel Drive Truck

You're able to come in to work when all your co-workers are still snoozing in their warm beds, not willing to get out on the treacherous roads. I made it to work safe and sound, thanks to the safe driving of my hubby. But we left the house at 5:15 AM to avoid the crazies driving out there. ugh. It's so EARLY. sigh.

Hope NOT to repeat the 2 hour commute home like last night. sigh.

Be careful out there my Texas friends. It's pure ice!

  1. Funny thing. I'm reading your post from my warm bed. I just emailed my boss for a day off.

I'm what you might call non-essential.

  2. What?!?! Why do they get to sleep and you have to go in? Isn't this an equal-day-off-opportunity company? I mean really, JCol, you should be in bed, still enjoying the visions of sugar plums and what not!

Call a cab and take the day off!

Steph - I know, I know. We are slim pickens around here today. They're just starting to come in and I've been here for four hours!!! Chicken Littles.

  4. I am at work because I live so close by. I was the "Warm Body" i the office today representing for the whole team - only 3 of us came in out of about 20.

But it's nice. It's quiet, and there is plenty of free coffee and hot chocolate.

  6. i just asked my sargeant if I could have the next two days off to take care of my Christmas decor and he said yes, so you know I will be snuggling up in my warm bed for the next four days!!!! yeah!!! I am in such a good mood now!!!!!

  7. Oh, coldness...

Too bad the building flooded the day before and spoiled my hard-earned snow (ice) day off.

I spent four years in upstate New York, with not so much as a snow day. So, now it is payback time (or, at least, it was SUPPOSE to be payback time!!). Alas...
