Grammy Schmammy

Am I getting old? Am I just out of touch with pop culture these days? I looked at the list of Grammy nominees on the cbs.com website yesterday and I knew like 3 of the songs. I guess I'm just not listening to the "right" radio stations or maybe I do, but I change the station when one of "my" songs isn't on the radio. Guess I'm living in the past or something. Or I need to get back to my $4.00 People magazines with the good crosswords in them.

Anybody else not familiar with the songs/artists besides me?

Ha Ha... you are too funny. It is probably best that you don't know - it means you are probably listening to Christian music like I know you do, and CD's - which is better for the soul anyway...

I am such a sinner - I am off to confession.

This is the antithesis of your post, isn't it? I do listen to CD's alot, and sometimes they're Christian CD's but not exclusively. I have my favorites, and if they're not playing, I just switch the button. It's much more of that then being a "goody two-shoes".

Believe me, I'm not applying or being nominated for sainthood anytime soon. Although, I was a saint in high school, but that's only because it was our mascot. The Saints. Yep, we had a St. Bernard on the field too.

I have XM Radio in my car, so I keep up with a lot of what is out there. Plus, my baby sister is still in college, so whenever we go somewhere together the TOP 20 is all we listen to.

It is cracking me up that Katie is using one of the pictures from yesterday's post as her "profile picture" for the day. Too bad I've been so busy today, and just now found out!

I don't even know WHO is being nominated this year, much less the songs that they sing or the artist's names...so here's for being completely out of the loop. (NOT for being old)

I must admit, I hardly ever listen to anything but Christian, and believe it or not, my two favorites are Christian Rap and then worship, I do love Nicole C. Mullins.

I don't even know who was nominated (or won, if they're over). It's not age; it's interest.

That's funny. When did my music start being The Oldies?

i'm with you - i recognized most of the artists and some of the songs.

i think this is a sign of getting old. next thing you know, we'll be driving our kids to school and forcing them to listen to our "oldies."

I am DEFINATELY with you on this. I don't keep up on modern entertainment, even though I'm youngish and most people think I'm 'hip'. I am really sooooo square. I don't watch TV at all, and listen to some music (mostly heavy metal and opera) so I'm kinda lopsided.
