Dreaming....

I found this site today. I am really, really hoping that I will get to see this area in a couple of months. Our trip to Britain in May is in the planning stages and I'm hoping that my aunt is a big Pride and Prejudice fan because Cat and I sure qualify as official Darcy fans.

Giving Thanks and Praise

Luke 17:11-19

Ten Healed of Leprosy

11Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!"
14When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.
15One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
17Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" 19Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well."

It's annual evaluation time at work. Brian and I both received our evals and our bosses were very kind and generous to us. I am very thankful to them, but I know I need to remember ultimately where these blessings come from.

As I was walking to the other part of the building today, I overheard someone say "the stars were aligned just right to enable me to have this opportunity". She had a spirit of thankfulness, but failed to recognize who made those stars. That things really don't happen just by chance, and that if they do, thanking the "lucky stars" really isn't giving credit where credit is due.

Have a great day my friends. Rest, and be thankful.

Washing My Eyes Out With Soap

Yeah, so in class last night, we learned all the bad words that have ever been conceived in English and were taught the signed version of that. With visuals. And Motions. And things I never, EVER wanted to see my prof. do. Unclean! Unclean!

So yeah, maybe it's ok to let a little shampoo run in my eyes in tomorrow's shower. Scrub those images away. I guess I'm going to need them if I'm interpreting for someone who's momma didn't teach him right from wrong, but yeah. I was blushing. And the prof. called me on it. It's one thing to be married. It's another to be giving the class visuals on what married people do.

Geesh!

Love Is In The Air

Gal. 5:14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

James 2:8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right.

Mark 12:31 The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these.

I Corinthians 13:1-8, 13

1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Ruth 1:16-17

"Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me."

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

What Would Flipper Think?

Wow, I always knew that dolphins were smart, but these guys are showing some superior levels of intelligence. Since they are so good at stopping the bad guys, what's next for them? Stakeouts at the local donut shop?

Wickedly Funny

I can't stop laughing at this. Apparently I'm not the only one that enjoys listening to The Colonel. Who cares if he's a year older than my dad. He's 1/2 Welsh. That's got to count for something.

Overheard

In response to one co-worker stating that this year they are offering "Anti-Valentine's Day Cards".

"Oh, cmon! If you don't have a Valentine, SUCK IT UP!"

-said by the sweetest co-worker (that's also a grandma)

Time Warp

I went to a funeral today and it was like being in a time warp. There were people there from the church I grew up in. There were people from the church I went from ages 15-22, and there were people from my parents church now. I saw my art teacher from 4th grade. The high school leader I really liked. My parents friends. My best friend/boyfriend from high school and college. His mother. My wedding coordinator. My mother. People that used to work with my mother-in-law. Wow. So many different people, feelings and times. Surreal.

It was the funeral for the dad one of my high school/college friends. The four of us double-dated and worked together at camp and the church was one of our pick-up locations. The last time all four of us were at that church, we were in college. All sweating in the Dallas heat. Now they're married, and the bf/bf and I are each married to other people.

Yeah. So, I'm supposed to be working on my paper right now. The one that is due in 2 hrs. I guess I better get to work. But that was the closest I've ever been to understanding how God sees time. All blended together at the same moment.

Wow.

Wascally Wabbit

Are there words that you can't pronounce correctly or have difficulty saying? Two come to mind for me. Without full concentration, extended periods of time trying to slowly say them correctly, these two phrases are not coming out of my mouth. Even then, I can't say them right.

"ro's" are the death me. What words leave you tongue-tied?
